Earth Observations in support of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

This publication has been developed to highlight the potential role for Earth observation, in particular in supporting the global Indicator framework for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It has been developed through a cooperation between the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS – the peak body for coordination of satellite Earth observation programmes of all the world’s civil space agencies).

A successful sustainable development agenda will require effective partnerships for implementation. This report describes how GEO, CEOS and space agencies are working with governments, academia, scientists, and the private sector in developing such partnerships for implementation of the SDGs.
